CLIMBING CLASSES

Planet Granite offers a variety of climbing classes for everyone from the brand new climber to the experienced ones looking to better their technique. If you are new to climbing, please visit our Getting Started page.Group Belay Lesson

Belay Lessons
Prerequisites: must be 14 years or older.

The belay lesson teaches you to manage the safety rope (called belaying). We offer belay lessons every day except Wednesdays. A beginner belay lesson includes gear rental (shoes and harness) and one day pass. At the end of class, students will receive a temporary belay card so they can continue to climb and belay for the rest of the day! To earn a permanent belay card, each person will need to come back on a separate day and take our belay test (no reservation necessary--however, during busy hours, there might be a wait to take the test).

Reservations are strongly recommended as our classes do fill up. We only allow 4 students per class so the instructor can devote personal attention to each student.

For parents who are interested in learning to belay for their child, we offer a Parent/Child Belay lesson. Price includes a harness for one child and one adult. Each adult must bring at least one child with them for the class, since the parent will need a "climber" to work with as they learn. Additional children are $13.
If there are children under the age of 18, please call ahead of time regarding waiver information.

Classes are normally an hour long and are offered at the following times:
Mon - Fri (except Wed) 6:30pm & 7:30pm
Saturday 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2pm, 3:30pm & 4:30pm
Sunday 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2pm & 3:30pm
