In 2011, Planet Granite has donated in the following ways:

ASCA Fundraiser FlyerASCA Logo$10,000 as a company match as part of an auction fundraiser to the American Safe Climbing Association (ASCA)
The ASCA is a non-profit, volunteer driven, climber run organization that is largely responsible for most of the rebolting efforts in the West and even internationally. In just 15 days, culminating in a special auction fundraiser hosted at Planet Granite San Francisco, we helped raise $30,395. Guest speaker Alex Honnold drew a crowd and the community did the rest!

Castle Rock Portola Foundation Auction Fundraiser Poster$10,000 as a company match to the Portola and Castle Rock Foundation.
In 2011, the State Park announced it would be closing Castle Rock and many other State Parks due to budget cuts. We and the Portola Castle Rock Foundation teamed up to raise money. On March 21st, 2012, we raised $20,725 to help keep Castle Rock open! Castle Rock will stay open for one year, from July 1, 2012 thanks to YOU.

$3,500 to the Friends of Indian Creek(FOIC)
Together with the FOI, the Access Fund and Utah Open Lands, we raised enough funds to install a primitive toilet at the Castleton Tower Campsite.

$1,000 to the Access Fund for Summit Rock
Aid in bringing out a Peregrine expert, Prof Clayton White to determine if the park needed to remain closed year round. With over $3,000 raised, Prof. White came out and his findings show the year round closure unnecessary! The Access Fund has submitted a request to re-open Summit Rocks.

ETC logo$20,000 to Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC).
The ETC is an organization who is dedicated to opening the outdoor world to people with special needs. Each year, over 2,000 people of all abilities join them rafting, skiing and camping, gaining awareness about both the environment and wilderness.

$10,000 to Big City Mountaineers.
BCM provides inner city youth with the opportunity to get outside. Planet Granite is working with them to provide additional climbing opportunities in our gyms! In our programs, they will learn to manage the ropes, teamwork, communication and trust.

$10,000 to the Sharma Fund
The Sharma Fund provides scholarships for youth to particpate in climbing.

$2,400 to Carbon Tree Conservation
Carbon Tree Conversation is a company whose mission is to help stop global warming and to protect biodiversity by saving endangered tropical forests.  Carbon Tree ConservationThey use the funds from selling carbon offsets to protect forests that sequester carbon dioxide, balancing the emissions produced by companies such as ours. The amount we have pledged ensures that Planet Granite is a carbon neutral company for 2010.

If you are part of or know of an organization you feel would benefit from being part of our $1/Member/Month program, please submit your request to Renee DeAngelis.
