BL Friction Pan

If you stayed ’til 9pm, you are likely in this photo – the entire gym held their breath as Mike valiantly fought his way to the end of Open #12!  It was palm sweating, mesmerizing and entertaining all at one time!  Thanks Mike, for putting on a great show! (Unfortunately, in a heartbreak finish, he did not send, falling on the very last move, followed by a collective groan and then loud cheers from the crowd below.)

The setters are the real stars of this show – the routes were all stellar and varied.  As one Facebook commenter posted: “Thanks for cool routes! Now you have a real challenge: to make some better routes for SF and SV comps.” If you didn’t get a chance to check them out that night, a weekend road trip to PG Belmont should be in your future!

Over 200 score cards were turned in and the entire gym turned into a buzz of excited activity.  The sheer talent in the room was mind blowing and people were pushing it to their limits!  With beer by Strike Brewing Company, lots of pizza, snacks and of course prizes, the whole night was a ton of fun!

See you next time at PG San Francisco!  Scores for PG Belmont are posted HERE and you can check out more photos from the comp HERE.  Special thanks to Bryant Truong for taking shots all night long and Kenny Hoff for his awesome time-lapse!

This couldn’t have happened without our sponsors:  Thanks to Black Diamond, Petzl, La Sportiva, Blue Water, Metolius, Evolv, Krieg, Diamond Productions, Prana, Flux Coffee, The Cookie Department, Five Hour Energy, Redwood Trading Post and Alternative Baking Co!
