PLANET GRANITE BLOG

[…]

The Portland Pulldown is coming up in just a couple weeks, here’s everything you need to know to crush at the competition, have some fun, and help out a PG Staff Member, and good friend of our climbing community.

A few weeks ago, our good friend and front desk staffer, Dan, was hit by a car bike commuting. Dan underwent emergency surgery that night, and has surmounted a large amount of medical bills. Dan is a known climber in our tight-knit climbing community, and we’re looking to help Dan out with some of his bills. We will be asking for a suggested $5 cash donation to help Dan get back in his harness, and show him how supportive our community is!

While The Portland Pulldown is a competition, it is really our way of getting the climbing community together to have some fun, help out a friend and of course, crush some routes. The Pulldown is open to climbers of all ages and abilities, and categories are as follows (both men and women):

Recreational: up to 5.10b
Advanced: 5.10c-5.11c
Open (lead): 5.11d and higher
Youth (top rope only): all youth 15 years and under.
