Meditation practice is an integral part of the 8-limbed path of yoga. In fact, asana (movement) practice prepares our minds and bodies for sitting. This class will introduce students to the foundations of seated meditation. Students will learn how to find an optimal posture to set up their bodies and will be guided to use the breath as a focal point for the mind’s attention. Other techniques will be introduced to train the mind’s focus and attention, creating a space for students to sit together in community and to gain deeper insight into their own minds, bodies and lives.
