Ready for winter cross-training? While it might be hard to tear yourself away from our walls, we are excited to let you know our team of Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers are ready to get you into top shape for your spring projects.

Cross training for the sport of climbing, or ANY sport for that matter, is extremely important because it gives you a chance to even out muscle imbalances and work on the areas of fitness that might not be your strengths so as to avoid injuries. It also allows you to get stronger overall as an athlete, and who doesn’t want that?


From F10 Fitness, to Total Body Fitness, 20-20-20 and Core Galore, our classes are designed with two big goals in mind:

1) to help create a strong postural foundation in each class participants body
2) to layer strength, power, agility and core movements in all three planes of motion on top of that base

Climbing is such an exciting sport to train for because it requires dynamic power, yet finesse, balance and flexibility, AND it is not just in one straight line! Our instructors are experienced, educated, creative and committed to providing challenging yet sustainable fitness classes that will help you become the best overall athlete you can be! JUTTA REICHARDT – NASM Certified Personal Trainer


Jutta is originally from Germany and started climbing some 20 plus years ago.  Being hooked on the sport, seeing the world and loving the outdoors, she combined traveling and climbing whenever she could.  Her adventurous spirit brought her to the US 12 years ago where she spent 4 years in sunny California before finally settling down in Portland.

Two kids changed the pace of life and opened up the horizon to a broader perspective on fitness and a healthy lifestyle.  She discovered her love of learning and teaching functional movements to build strength, flexibility, power and endurance and became a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer.

“Climbing will always be my passion.  It has taught me that my body and mind are capable of doing things that I was only dreaming of.  My mission as a personal trainer is to help clients discover that same sense of empowerment and to provide them with guidance and support as they pursue their own personal goals.”

Amy Brown – BS, PTA, LMT, CSCS


Amy has an enthusiasm for life that is contagious. She loves her work and it shines through all of her client’s outcomes. She grew up climbing in southern NM & returned to her love of the sport here in Oregon 8 years ago.  Specializing in injury prevention, Amy spent 4 years traveling and working with some of the world’s fastest athletes. She had the opportunity go to London to work with and watch many of these runners compete at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. She currently works with many talented track hopefuls for the 2016 Olympics (GO USA!).

Amy is a licensed Massage Therapist (OR#19726) specializing in deep tissue work & sports massage. Check out her special introductory offer for PG members in November’s newsletter! She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through NCSA.  She graduated from Portland State in 2003 after double majoring in Fitness and Health as well as Public Healthcare Administration. She received her Physical Therapists’ Assistant (PTA) degree in 1997 and graduated with Honors.

Rhianna Derenik-Hanagin


Rhianna has been a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor for 10 years.  She enjoys teaching Spin, Core, Pilates, Interval/Circuit/Bootcamp, Yoga and strength conditioning. She is an avid cyclist, swimmer, weight lifter and runner to keep herself strong, fit and healthy.  Rhianna is also passionate about nutrition and helps members with weight management and sports performance (especially running and swimming).  She has years of experience as a Health and Wellness Coach which provided her with opportunities to work with people from diverse backgrounds to make healthier choices and establish realistic goals in their pursuit for a better quality of life. It is important to Rhianna to promote fitness and healthy eating to people as a lifestyle habit.  Her philosophy about exercise and health is to help people enjoy a healthy lifestyle to include fitness and nutritious food, and to not think of these as just “necessary evils”.
