*** UPDATE as of June 6:  Yoga and F10 classes and PG Team practice are cancelled for the evening.***

Attention PGSF climbers! Bernie Sanders and a somewhat unusual mix of guests Dave Matthews, Cornel West, Shailene Woodley and Danny Glover will be holding a rally Monday afternoon and evening at Crissy Field.

What does this mean for you? Depending on your political preferences, it will vary widely.

But regardless of your presidential politics, this rally will mean that the Planet Granite portion of the Presidio will be very crowded Monday from afternoon through mid-evening, with an expected crowd size of between 15,000 and 25,000 people.

Forewarned is forearmed–so, please keep this large rally in mind as you plan your Monday.  Here are all the details from the Presidio:

  • The National Park Service has permitted a rally for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Crissy field this Monday, June 6 from approximately 3:30 – 9 pm.
  • There are expected to be traffic impacts along Mason Street, and possibly other access areas to the park.
  • The event organizers are expecting 25,000 people or more and will be directing them to take public transit and rideshares, or to make use of shuttles from other locations.
  • A concert style stage will be set up across from House of Air (926 Mason St.) near the Gulf of the Farallones Visitor Center facing east. Amplified music and stage lighting will begin about 4 pm. Dave Mathews is expected to perform at 5 pm. Bernie Sanders is expected to speak at 7 pm.
