It’s the final week of ‘Seven Weeks of Sales’ and we’re almost as excited for this week’s deals as we are to ring in the New Year! If your New Year’s Resolution is to get yourself climbing outside, this week’s deal is on one of the most critical aspects of outdoor climbing: the helmet.

You’ll get 20% off all helmets through the end of the week and with that we’ve got some special reviews from Planet Granite San Francisco staff Krystina, Joey, and Reinhard to help you find the perfect fit for you. And to inspire you to make that next step and get out outside, we’ve featured some amazing photography from our very own and talented Simon Moore. Today we’re featuring three Petzl Helmets: the Sirocco, the Meteor, and the Elios.

First on deck is the Petzl Sirocco. Lightweight, comfy, and flashy it’s almost like it’s not there. Krystina give you the low down on why she prefers this rad helmet. And to get you stoked to get into a helmet with each review, Simon Moore takes you outside with his incredible photography.

“I like the Sirroco because it’s light, which is awesome when you’re packing in and going a long distance,” said Krystina. “It’s good for those long multi-pitch routes on a hot day. It’s breathable and it’ a multiple impact helmet. It also has a great little clip for your sunglasses or goggles on the back.”

Next we’ve got the Petzl Meteor. A favorite for mountaineers, it’s incredibly durable, and has great ventilation even with a beanie or hat on under it. Joey gives you his take on this great helmet.

“The Petzl Meteor is lightweight, it’s comfortable, and it adjusts really easily,” said Joey. “It also has a really cool secure way to connect your headlamp to it when I climb in it at night. I’ve dragged it up a bunch of pitches and because it’s so comfortable you can pretty much use it for everything, you can wear it for sport climbing, you can wear it for trad, you can sleep in it.”

Last up we’ve got the Petzl Elios, which is another great helmet for trad, sport, or mountaineering. Reinhard tells us why he loves this helmet.

“I love the Elios because it’s a great go to multi-pitch helmet,” said Reinhard. “For trad this is my go to. It’s durable and tough, honestly just looking at it it’s exactly what you want on your head if a rock or a piece of gear comes crashing down at you.”

Whether you’re out climbing or celebrating in the city with loved ones we hope you have a fantastic New Years! Our ‘Seven Weeks of Sales’ event finishes up this week and we hope you enjoyed all the great deals on gear and clothes we’ve had for you. Don’t miss out on 20% off all helmets this week and get out there and climb!
