Welcome to Planet Granite San Francisco

Located in the heart of the Presidio by the Golden Gate Bridge, PG San Francisco boasts not just amazing climbing and bouldering terrain, but fantastic views across Crissy Field. With 25,000 square feet of climbing, a full fitness and cardio area, two yoga studios and top out boldering, PG San Francisco combines the best of climbing, yoga and fitness.

OUR STORY

SF, our third location, filled a need for our members in the city. We found the perfect spot in the Presidio – gorgeous sweeping views of the SF Bay and green wide open spaces on Crissy Field make for a beautiful backdrop to climbing! Built in 2008 in an old airplane hanger, the gym is in a historic building with a unique layout – it has catwalks that take you to the second story fitness and bouldering, as well as high climbing that juts out of the top allowing for views of Alcatraz. Combined with our two beautiful studios for yoga and fitness, PG San Francisco offers signature variety for climbers, athletes, and yogis.

about me

Jesse has a passion for education, climbing, and being outdoors with friends. He started bouldering indoors in 2007 at The Circuit in Portland, OR, then got hooked on sport climbing in 2012 while living near the golden sandstone cliffs of Taiwan. He loves the mental aspects of climbing, especially learning new ways to function better and push harder on lead. Outside of the gym you can usually find him relaxing at a coffee shop, walking around San Francisco, or hiking and sport climbing in the mountains.

about me

Although I’ve always been an outdoor enthusiast, I didn’t discover my love for climbing until moving to Edmonton, AB in Canada. My first brutal Canadian winter drove me indoors to a climbing gym that soon became my second home. I trained on a junior team for 2 years and took numerous trips out to the Rockies, climbing and hiking in places like Canmore, Banff, and Jasper. Eventually I took a long road trip all the way to Squamish, BC, where I climbed my fist big wall. Since moving to the Bay Area, I’ve started to get back into climbing and found a new love for bouldering, both indoors and out. If you want to talk about climbing things, let’s chat!

About me

A SF native, Martin found climbing right after high school as something to do other than picking up heavy things and putting them back down. Lifting soon became a chore and climbing became a passion. Although sometimes still found in the weight room, Martin is usually found bouldering in the gym or outside wrestling pebbles.

Skills

Bouldering is my ultimate passion and getting people psyched on it is what I do best! My main priority when first teaching people how to boulder is to get them to fall and spot properly. I love climbing on steep overhangs with big dynamic movement but can also get down with some technical slab. I love working with kids and seeing them progress, it’s one of the best feelings in the world. Other than that, I cant seem to stop training. Whether it be climbing oriented or just overall fitness, I cant get enough!

About me

I’m Matt, I like bad music and bad haircuts.

Skills

I’m really big into tall wall climbing. Outdoor or indoor I like being up high. And while most of my outdoor experience is from the Gunks, I’m looking forward to getting to know Cali granite.
